I love it when clients ask me to help them make their vision come true—this family had hoped for pink skies and beach photos, and that’s what we got! It was a nice chance for me to get out and explore a bit, too.
Sunflower sessions!
Sunflowers summer 2020 are a wrap! I shot these during the Alvis Farms 2nd Annual Sunflower Festival in Manakin (a few minutes outside of short pump). The sunflowers were spectacular, the field was huge, and the sunset was great the night I was out there! A 2020 graduation shoot (with cows)
My client loves cows and just graduated, so she asked if we could do a celebratory shoot hanging out with some cows. SAY NO MORE! This is my most favorite sort of thing.

Little Red Wagon One-Year Session
Waylon is turning one! The last time I saw him, we shot his six-month photos. It has been neat to watch all these little babies growing up so fast!
More sunflowers!
As I edit through the latest round of shoots this week, I have to go ahead and share a bunch from last Thursday's mini sessions at Alvis Farms LLC. Editing this sweet mom-daughter duo made my day! Mike + Sarah | Married
This couple got married at the Jamestown 4-H setting, which provided a lovely view of the James River and some handy beaches for wedding party photos. They had a beautiful day and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to capture it! View more from their day here.

It is hard to beat a barn wedding when that barn is right in the backyard of your childhood home. Erin and Will picked a beautiful day to celebrate with friends and family and they transformed their Amelia County family farm into a pretty awesome venue for a wedding day! Congratulations, guys! Roberta and Ponies
It’s been a little while since I’ve had the chance to shoot some horse images—I love these! Roberta has two really sweet geldings, and they even match <3. See the rest of her shoot here!
Ella's Senior Session
I can't say enough how easy this girl made my job--she was a natural in front of the camera and I really enjoyed getting to meet her and work with her to create her senior casuals. The outfits she picked were spot-on for the light and colors of the site we picked. You can see more from her session here.
Amber + Clayton | Maternity
I was worried about an incoming storm during Amber and Clayton's shoot, but the moodier light we got turned this session into one of my all-time favorites. The water was a fitting backdrop, as their baby will probably spend some time enjoying kayaking with them later on! They are looking forward to meeting their little one soon! See their gallery here.
Puppies and Dancers
I've shot a lot of unique sessions, but this was a first--Taylor and Fallon gave me the opportunity to capture outdoor dance images as well as some family images with their new puppies, who were perfectly behaved throughout. Twins and Sunflowers

Caitlin's Farm Portraits
If you don't know her, Caitlin is a sweet and hard-working person who loves her brother and loves caring for her cows on her family's land--she and I share a love for photography, too! Lizzie + Warren Sunset Session
We almost got rained out for this shoot, but a giant thunderstorm cleared and left us with the right kind of light just in time! These two were relaxed and so awesome to work with--I think trekking through all the tall grass was worth it! See more from the shoot on Facebook.

I love these two friends and it was a privilege to shoot some engagement images for them. I'm also a big fan of their dog, Shelby, and I'm really glad they brought her along :)
Sunsets and Sun Dresses
I am always a bit nervous picking times for evening sessions since our weather has been all over the place this month, but golden hour worked out perfectly for us this weekend. It helps when you have great models, too!
