I’ve had my busiest May of shooting since I opened up shop, but it’s been a great time! Here are a few highlights, but if you follow along on Facebook, I’ll post plenty more there.
Sunflower sessions!
Sunflowers summer 2020 are a wrap! I shot these during the Alvis Farms 2nd Annual Sunflower Festival in Manakin (a few minutes outside of short pump). The sunflowers were spectacular, the field was huge, and the sunset was great the night I was out there! Looking forward to more—if you’re interested, contact me to ask about some later-summer options at additional farm location or catching me during next year’s summer special at Alvis Farms :)
A 2020 graduation shoot (with cows)
My client loves cows and just graduated, so she asked if we could do a celebratory shoot hanging out with some cows. SAY NO MORE! This is my most favorite sort of thing.
Many thanks to Richlands Dairy Farm for hosting - your girls were very sweet as always!
Even more sunflowers!
We trekked out to a new spot in the field at Alvis Farms that I hadn’t used before, and there was a perfect tree behind us to diffuse the sun. I loved this spot!
More sunflowers!
As I edit through the latest round of shoots this week, I have to go ahead and share a bunch from last Thursday's mini sessions at Alvis Farms LLC. Editing this sweet mom-daughter duo made my day! We had a great time out in the sunflowers--I'm doing one more set out there tomorrow while the flowers are still in bloom, and then we will just have to wait until next year to get back out :) See lots more from this mother-daughter shoot here.
Caitlin's Farm Portraits
If you don't know her, Caitlin is a sweet and hard-working person who loves her brother and loves caring for her cows on her family's land--she and I share a love for photography, too! I visited with her earlier this week to shoot some images of her doing what she loves. See more from the shoot on Facebook.
Dairy Farm Mini Sessions
Last fall, I joined up with my friends at Richlands Dairy Farm in Blackstone to offer dairy farm mini sessions during their fall festival--we had so much fun that we decided to offer them again during the farm's June Family Farm Day!
Friends, Ponies, and Sunsets
I had a wonderful time shooting some images of Claire, her awesome horses, and her friend Molly. We got lucky with beautiful sunset light and a very convenient apple tree that made a perfect shooting spot. See more images from the session here.
Cows and Calves
I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Richlands Dairy Farm in Dinwiddie County this weekend. The place is full of happy cows, happy calves, and the family's enthusiasm for sharing their passion for dairy farming with the public. Follow them (Richlands Dairy Farm on Facebook) to hear about their events and catch a glimpse of daily chores! Great people, great farm.
