A quick note about 2021 fall/Christmas availability and mini sessions: I am now currently full for by-appointment sessions, but I still have a few openings for mini sessions on Nov 13 at Magnolia Hill in Powhatan. Book your mini session here. I feel absolutely horrible turning away anyone, especially those of you who book me year after year, but I have some extra work and class commitments this fall and I have been squeezing in sessions in any way I can and am running completely out of options for any additional dates. It's very difficult for me to say no, but it's a necessity for me in this season and I also take this as a reminder to be extremely grateful for each of you who have supported me through the last five or so years with your interest in working with me!
I have a created a number of session options and seasonal specials for you to choose from. If you have something else in mind, feel free to discuss your needs with me!
How it works: For all of the offerings below, I will curate and carefully edit the images I shoot and within 1-2 weeks of your session, I will send you an online gallery of high-resolution digital images that you may freely download, print, or share. I can also fulfill orders for professional prints and wall art should you wish to purchase any items from me directly. You are welcome to change outfits, but be mindful that this will utilize some of our available time. I typically deliver 30-50 digital images per finished gallery from each 45-minute session and approximately 15-25 images for all other sessions and seasonal specials. Pay when we meet, or pay online within three days after the session.
Traditional and Year-Round Offerings
Classic Portrait Session at a location of your choice: 45 minutes, $280 plus $14.84 VA sales tax. Available for seniors, families, horse owners, engagements, maternity, and more. Package includes travel to your home, barn, or any other place you have in mind within 60 miles round-trip of my location in Amelia. For further travel, I can provide an updated quote. If you don’t have a location in mind, we can use sites I frequent such as Midlothian Mines, Pocahontas Park, Belle Isle, or one of the farms or venues listed below with my other booking options, and if you’re looking for a particular type of site, I can seek it out. Flat Creek Farm Session in Amelia (options: shoot utilizing the farm’s outdoor scenery including woods and a pond; shoot in the petting farm setting interacting with friendly goats and farm animals): 25 minutes, $150+7.95 VA sales tax for the shoot + $30/half hour or $50/hour private farm session reservation fee payable to Flat Creek Farm (the shoot lasts approximately a half-hour, but you are welcome to request an hour-long reservation at the farm if you’d like to enjoy the animals a little longer). Flat Creek Farm is a petting farm that offers private reservations for visitors year-round on weekends and weekdays. We frequently work with the goats for photos, but other farm residents include horses, a miniature donkey, sheep, chickens and more. The farm is an equally nice place to shoot some classic outdoor portraits. It is located at 13342 Lodore Road, Amelia Court House, VA 23002. How to book: Contact me to share a few dates you’re interested in so that I can check them against my own calendar, and from there I’ll contact the farm and secure your private farm reservation at a time that works for everyone. You can also contact the farm yourself for a reservation, but make sure you discuss dates with me to ensure that I’m available. Red Barn, Farm, and Fields Portrait Sessions at the Historic Raleigh Parish Glebe: 25 minutes, $185+9.81 VA sales tax; the venue’s fee is included in this package. This is beautiful historic property with rolling fields, a white farmhouse and outbuilding, and a landmark red barn. How to book: Contact me to discuss dates. Black Background Equine Portraits (options: wall art packages): 15-30 minutes, timeless, clean keepsake images of your horse. Shooting these sessions may require a barn or shed to provide shade. Typical black background sessions result in a minimum of 3-5 images. Wall art is made using the image you select after you view your finished gallery. Canvases come ready to hang on a 1 3/4” deep frame backed with black paper; standout mounts are laquer-sprayed professional prints backed by a 1 1/2” thick black lightweight frame with hanging holes. Shipping of canvas/mounts and local travel are included in the pricing. Inquire for travel rates for locations exceeding 60 miles round-trip from 23002. Group Rates : Barn Groups, Families, and Friends - Portrait Mini-Session Special: 25 minutes, $160+8.48 VA sales tax per party when two or more clients book a time block together. If a travel fee applies for a site greater than 60 miles round-trip, this can be split between all parties. If any clients in the group prefer to book the Classic 45-Minute Portrait Session instead of the mini session, we will simply adjust the day's schedule to match the appropriate time required for each person's session selection. Special Offerings
Sunflower Mini Sessions (limited offerings due to bloom dates): 25 minutes, $160+8.48 VA sales tax. Join me at Alvis Farms in Goochland on August 2 (all other dates are full as of now). Note: There is a $8 entry fee for anyone over age 5 at Alvis Farm, as these sessions take place during their annual sunflower festival. Richlands Dairy Farm Sessions with Calf Meet-and-Greets: Join me on October 10 and 23 for this year’s fall dairy farm mini sessions! They are $150+7.95 VA sales tax, and a portion of your session supports Richlands—see details and booking here. Outside of fall, I offer ongoing by-appointment portrait sessions at Richlands Dairy Farm for $150+7.95 VA sales tax + $100 paid to the farm. I handle the arrangements with the farm. Also, provide your email at this link if you’d like to be notified when 2022 reservations are open for the mini session special, which is $150+7.95—farm and calf use included in the special.
Unicorn or Pony Sessions: 30 minutes, $280+14.84 VA sales tax. Dress up with your horse or pony (I can supply a neck garland and unicorn horn—I have horse and pony sizes that fit onto a bridle—and we can shoot a mixture of themed images and regular portraits if you wish), or if you don’t have horse access of your own, join me at Pine Crest Farm LLC near Short Pump for a shoot with one of their resident horses in fantastic pasture scenery (farm time and the use of a horse there are already included in this fee). Christmas with the Goats/Christmas Card Special at Flat Creek Farm Nov 21 and Dec 4: (options: shoot utilizing the farm’s outdoor scenery including woods and a pond; shoot in a Christmas-themed setting in the farmyard as I capture your family or children posing with goats donning Christmas sweaters): 25 minutes, $150+7.95 VA sales tax for the shoot; your private farm session reservation fee is already included in this special. Sunflower Sessions: 25 minutes, $160+8.48 VA sales tax. This special will be announced in summer as our farm site determines bloom dates. If you’d like first access, contact me or simply text me your email (804-313-5396) and I’ll send you a note as soon as booking information is available.
Powhatan Scenic Farm Mini Session Special Sept 25 and Nov 13: 25 minutes, $150+7.95 VA sales tax. Open fields, a renovated farmhouse porch, woods, and scenic views. Miniature Horse Shoots in Hanover: 45 minutes, $345+18.29 VA sales tax + $50 fee payable to the horse owner. Meet two adorable miniature horses for a unique shoot on a scenic 12-acre property.
